Buffalo State is proud to recognize the undergraduate students who have completed at least 45 credit hours (30 credit hours for transfer students) at Buffalo State and achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Two SUNY Potsdam students were recently inducted into Kappa Alpha Omicron, the international interdisciplinary environmental studies honor society, during a ceremony held on April 24.

Buffalo State will hold its annual Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Honors Convocation on May 10. The convocation recognizes students who have achieved a 3.0 GPA during the spring or fall 2017 semester as well as students who have a cumulative 3.0 GPA through 2017.

For the 17th year, the poetry contest illuminated the unique and impressive talents of GCC's students. On Tuesday, April 17, 2018 the five winning students were honored at an awards and recognition ceremony in the Alfred C. O'Connell Library where they each received a certificate, gift card, and a journal to encourage them to continue their writing.

The Genesee Community College men's soccer team came from behind to win its first-ever National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association D-III men's soccer national title by beating the reigning champion and top-seed Richland College (Tx.) 2-1 at Herkimer County Community College, Nov. 12.

Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society. The Society's mission is "to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others." Membership to Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only to the top 7.5 percent of juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students, along with faculty, professional staff, and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Morrisville State College recently announced the students who were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2017 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve an average of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

SUNY Canton students receive academic awards for achieving the highest GPA for their class year in their majors.

Award winner in the Third Annual Scholars Symposium, celebrating inquiry and scholarship across all disciplines. The full-day event included presentations, performances, exhibits and guest speakers-all focused on the most inventive and bright minds of the College community. More than 125 students, faculty, staff and community judges participated.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock announces its students enrolled in the spring 2018 semester.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Purchase College announced that more than 1,200 students were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and taken a minimum of 12 credits.

SUNY New Paltz announces its Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester, a recognition for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade-point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

Morrisville State College recently announced those students who were named to the President's List for the Fall 2017 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a perfect 4.0 average for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

351 students from Genesee Community College named to Dean's List. Students honored on the Dean's List have maintained full or part-time enrollment and earned a quality point index of 3.50 to 3.74.

228 students from Genesee Community College named to Provost's List. Students honored on the Provost's List have maintained part-time enrollment and earned a quality point index of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better.

312 students from Genesee Community College named to President's List. Students honored on the President's List have maintained full-time enrollment and earned a quality point index of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better.

Completion of this workshop provides an introduction to the key elements of academic advising for those new to advising students or for those interested in a refresher.

Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher who have completed at least 12 credit hours qualify for the dean's list at Buffalo State. We are pleased to recognize the following students who attained this honor in the Fall 2017 semester.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 882 students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2017 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by President Kristin G. Esterberg.

Orientation Leaders (OLs) are current students who work over the summer as GCC ambassadors assisting with summer orientation programs for first-time or transfer students, and their parents & family members. OLs continue to serve throughout the year as mentors and share their experience as successful students to aid in the transition process for incoming students.

Genesee Community College ~ Mechatronics Industrial Electronics Program Student successfully completed "Mechatronics Phase 1: Industrial Electronics" through a partnership program with GCC's BEST Center and CNC Technical Solutions, Inc. in Medina, NY. Phase 1 is the first course in a 3-course program. Students who successfully complete Phase 1 have participated in 136 hours of classroom and laboratory instruction and obtained the following competencies: 1. Students will apply basic concepts of electrical theory to build complete AC and DC circuits. 2. Students will use electrical/electronic test equipment including digital voltmeter, oscilloscope, amp meter, hi-potential tester and insulation testers to evaluate and troubleshoot circuits. 3. Students will solder components to create operating circuits. 4. Students will be able to identify electrical symbols on a schematic diagram, pair the symbol with actual components and troubleshoot circuits through reading schematics.

Some 3,500 students graduated during RIT's 132nd commencement celebration, held in May.
