The Leadership Certificate Program is designed to provide opportunities for students to enhance their knowledge and skills related to leadership as well as understand theories, concepts and models of modern leadership for the development of a personal leadership philosophy. The goal of the program is to provide an environment for meaningful practice while at GCC to prepare them for life-long leadership.

The Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence honors State University of New York students who have best demonstrated and been recognized for their integration of academic excellence with other aspects of their lives, which may include leadership, campus involvement, athletics, career achievement, community service or creative and performing arts.

Dennis Bleier was awarded Best Haiku/Short Form at the 14th Annual Student Poetry Contest.

Matthew Cray was awarded Honorable Mention in the 14th Annual Student Poetry Contest.

Cheyenne Zaremba was awarded third place in the 14th Annual Student Poetry Contest.

Cierra Hand was awarded second place in the 14th Annual Student Poetry Contest.

The following students were named members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Genesee Community College

Jessica Cherry was awarded the Grand Prize in the David A. Garfinkel Essay Contest sponsored by the Historical Society of New York Courts. Cherry's essay, titled, "A look at how NYS Legislation has profoundly impacted LGBT Family Law", was in response to the question posed by the committee: "How have the New York Courts addressed equal human rights for the LGBT Community?"

Genesee Community College proudly announces that 366 students were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2014 semester.

Students honored on the Provost's List are enrolled part-time and earned a grade point average of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better.

Students honored on the President's List have maintained full-time enrollment and earned a quality point index of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better.

GCC students appear in satirical comedy "Vampire Lesbians of Sodom" in the Stuart Steiner Theatre, October 16-19, 2014.

Over 75 students were recognized at the Discover the Stars on Monday, September 8th, 2014. This is an annual event that brings together GCC scholarship recipients and donors.

Each semester, one student at each campus center is awarded the honor for outstanding academic performance.

Students honored on the President's List have maintained full-time enrollment and earned a quality point index of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better.
