Medical Office Assistant Micro-Credential

The Medical Office Micro-Credential is comprised of three courses: Medical Terminology (OFT116), Medical Forms and Billing (OFT135), and Medical Office Procedures (OFT244). Topics covered in these four courses include: Learn and apply medical terminology to various health care situations Apply medical billing and insurance terminology to various insurance forms Demonstrate proficiency in the use of software for medical billing, basic accounting, and insurance claims Learn about medical law and ethics, preparation and management of records, telephone procedures and appointment scheduling, and health insurance and billing Develop soft skills needed to be successful as a medical office assistant including punctuality, acceptance of personal responsibility, teamwork, medical office protocols, HIPPA regulations, good customer service skills
