Pharmacy Students Can Start their Careers at GCC

Hurry! Classes Start August 20, 2018!

Batavia, NY (08/13/2018) — Recent surveys report pharmacists earn on average between $110,000 and $130,000 per year working in a variety of fields and in the coming years, experts predict just over 3% job growth in the industry. The news gets even better - there are still seats available in the courses required to get started this fall at Genesee Community College!

Interested students at Genesee Community College can take advantage of the new affiliation agreement with the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences to earn a doctor of pharmacy degree in less time! The affiliation agreement, structured as a "2+4" agreement allows enrolled students to complete two years of undergraduate study in GCC's A.S. Liberal Arts and Sciences: Natural Science, Biology Concentration and then apply and complete just four years at UB's School of Pharmacy and graduate with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. The UB Pharmacy School, which is the first in the SUNY system, is ranked among the top pharmacy schools in the U.S. and one of the top departments in the world in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and biopharmaceutics.

GCC's entire fall 2018 semester course schedule is available online at https://www.genesee.edu/courses/schedule/ and officials confirm there is still time for students to apply, register and start classes on August 20, 2018! GCC's dedicated team is meticulously trained to help. Transfer coordinators work with each student to complete admissions paperwork and ensure enrollment in all of the right classes to maximize student schedules every semester! Experts are available daily to assist with Financial Aid applications and to answer eligibility questions!

GCC also offers a transfer agreement into the pharmacy program at St. John Fisher College which also allows students to earn an associate degree at GCC then transfer seamlessly to St. John Fisher College to earn a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.

For further information on these and other programs, please contact Kristen Hargrave, transfer coordinator at GCC through klhargrave@genesee.edu or call 585-343-0055 ext. 6230.
