When: Friday, March 22, 2019 at 7 p.m.

Where: The Morgan-Manning House

151 Main Street

Brockport, NY 14420

Who: All are invited and welcome - arrive early for the best seats!

Background: On Friday, March 22, 2019 at 7 p.m. Rudely Stamp'd, will perform "Now We Stand by Each Other Always" at the Victorian mansion called the Morgan-Manning House in Brockport.

The audience will enjoy hearing a conversation between Union Civil War generals Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman, which actually took place at City Point, VA, in March 1865 - near the end of the Civil War. This play shows the famous cigar-chomping pair considering how best to close out the war as Sherman regales his chief with his exploits in Georgia.

"Now we stand by each other always" is written and directed by Genesee Community College professor of history Derek Maxfield and is performed by him as Grant and colleague Tracy Ford, professor of English, as Gen. William T. Sherman. Maxfield and Ford are collectively known as Rudely Stamp'd.

The performance is free and open to the public. Donations to the historical society are encouraged. For more information contact Prof. Derek Maxfield at ddmaxfield@genesee.edu or the Morgan-Manning House business office at (585) 637-3645. The performance is expected to bring a full house - pun intended - so guests are encouraged to arrive early for the best seats!
