GCC Offers Warm-Up at Dansville's Winter in the Village

FREE - Art Show, Craft Fair and Balloon Mania

Batavia, NY (11/20/2019) — As Dansville prepares for its annual Winter in the Village tradition, the staff at Genesee Community College's Dansville Campus Center are hard at work planning a day full of fun! The celebration takes place on Saturday, December 7, 2019. The entire community is invited to come in from the cold and enjoy the festivities inside the GCC Dansville Campus Center at 31 Clara Barton Street (the former Dansville Middle School).

Among the festivities:

  • From 10 a.m. till 5 p.m., visitors can do a little holiday shopping at the Arts and Crafts fair set up throughout the Campus Center and enjoy artwork by students in GCC's Drawing and Ceramics classes.
  • Also available all day - children visiting the Campus Center can create their own holiday artwork or enjoy a movie, hot cocoa and cookies!
  • From 10 a.m. till 4 p.m., GCC's entire Dansville Campus Center will be open for tours
  • From 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. a balloon artist from Balloon Mania will be entertaining guests of all ages by making balloon animals, hats, bouquets and more.

In addition, during this event, the Dansville Campus Center staff will be available to help new or returning students of all ages apply and register for the Spring 2020 semester!

"Winter in the Village is one of our favorite times of the year. We get to welcome visitors into the Campus Center, show them what GCC has to offer, and enjoy the beautiful artwork and crafts of our local area," Amy Churchfield, associate dean of GCC's Livingston County Campus Centers said. "Each year, we fill our Campus Center with festive decorations and get to be part of the magic of the holidays."
