Full-Year Pell Grants can be applied to GCC's Summer Classes
Last Week to Register for 12-week Summer Session
Batavia, NY (05/23/2018) — As you are getting ready for the summer, get ready for your future! The first summer session of onsite and online courses at Genesee Community College begins next Tuesday, May 29, 2018 and there are more than 60 courses offered.
Among the full summer, 12-week course options are: Female Role in Film (CIN242); Intro to Meteorology (MET101), Beginning Personal Fitness (PED259); Intro to Digital Photography (PHO118); Social Problems (SOC102) or Human Diversity (SOC204), and many others. Both online and onsite courses still have seats available! To explore all the options go to: https://www.genesee.edu/courses/schedule/.
In addition to many course options, full-year Pell Grant funding from the federal government is available to eligible full-time students who are taking at least six credits hours over the summer semester. This is a great opportunity for students who want to maximize their academic schedule, retake a course for a better grade, or get ahead and potentially graduate early.
Lastly, high school seniors, juniors, or adults and GED earners who are brand new to college and residents of Genesee, Livingston, Orleans or Wyoming counties, should explore the Genesee Promise Plus program. GPP offers a scholarship covering the cost of tuition for up to two summer courses at GCC for high school seniors, and one course for high school juniors (rising seniors) or adults. For all the details go to: https://www.genesee.edu/home/academics/genesee-promise-plus/
