Genesee Community College Names Associate Dean in Wyoming County

Batavia, NY (09/18/2018) — Officials at Genesee Community College announced Jessica Hibbard of Castile, New York as the new associate dean of GCC's Wyoming County Campus Centers. Hibbard has served the College in a variety of capacities, but found a home in the Wyoming County Campus Centers nearly a decade ago.

Beginning her GCC career as a technical assistant in Lakeville in 2002, Hibbard has worked her way through the ranks providing academic advisement support, student activities programming and a multitude of student support services. As a director of operations for the Wyoming County Campus Centers (interim and permanent) since January 2017, Hibbard gained invaluable experience working with departments throughout the College to ensure student success in Wyoming County.

As associate dean of the Wyoming County Campus Centers, Hibbard will continue to influence directional and daily operations of both the Arcade and Warsaw Campus Centers in alliance with GCC's strategic plan and mission.

"Jessica's tireless dedication to GCC and the communities we serve has earned her a spot in the Recognition Matters series," said Dr. Craig Lamb, dean of Distributed Learning who oversees GCC's six Campus Centers and Online Learning. "She is a prime example of the high quality individuals GCC is proud to have helping our students and delivering on our Beyond Expectations brand."

Hibbard earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration in 2017 from Stony Brook University, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice in 2001 from the State University of New York at Albany and an Associate in Science - Criminal Justice from GCC in 1999. She currently serves on a number of organizations and boards including the United Way of Wyoming County, the Wyoming County Business Education Council, the New York State Mentoring Program in the Warsaw Central School District and is co-chair of her GCC's Wyoming County Advisory Council.

Hibbard currently resides in Castile, NY with husband, Nathan and their two children. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, sports, music, cooking and spending time with her family.
