GCC's AEOC Offers FREE Financial Aid Workshops

Batavia, NY (10/25/2019) — What: GCC's AEOC Offers FREE Financial Aid Workshops

When: November 14 and 16, 2019 and again January 15, 2020

Where: Richmond Memorial Library - 19 Ross Street, Batavia NY 14020

Who: Current and Future Students, Parents and Guardians of all ages!

Background: The Adult Educational Opportunity Center (AEOC) from Genesee Community College has announced three FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and NYS Tap grant workshops to help any current or potential student from Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming Counties through the financial aid application process that is planning to attend any college.

These totally free workshops will be held at the Richmond Memorial Library, located at 19 Ross Street in Batavia, NY.

• Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 4 - 8 p.m.
• Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 12 - 4 p.m.
• Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 4 - 8 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to contact AEOC@genesee.edu to reserve a seat in any session and to learn about what information and materials should be brought to the session. Walk-ins to these sessions are also welcome!

The AEOC serves students of all ages and provides its services free of charge for college and trade school students, veteran's, GED students, those seeking career counseling and more.

Parents, guardians and students are also encouraged to check out one of the most popular workshops the AEOC offers, "FAFSA and Fries" which, starting November 4, 2019 are held the first Monday of every month from 12 -7 p.m. at the McDonald's restaurant located at 573 East Main Street in Batavia, NY. During these sessions, anyone can receive help in completing the FAFSA and TAP (Tuition Assistance Program) and GED enrollment forms, conducting scholarship searches, college or trade school searches and applications and so much more.
