Genesee's Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Inducts 49 New Members
2008 Dec 30The forty-seventh induction ceremony for Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Iota Upsilon Chapter, inducted 49 new members at Genesee Community College on Friday, December 5. Established in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership, and service programming. To be eligible for membership, a student must complete a minimum of 12 hours of Associate degree course work and earn a grade point average of 3.6 or higher. Students must maintain a high academic standing, or a 3.3 GPA, throughout their enrollment in the two-year college. This year's inductees, as well as their hometowns, are listed below.
